15 months of waiting and 5 grand invested. Selling at a loss. This is the cult classic Delta Elite,re-built and tuned by a top 1911 builder named Jim Milks, of innovative custom guns. The finish is ionbond with the flats brushed/polished. The frame has been milled for the match grade ramped Schueman barrel (paraord, Clark, lissner style ramp). Notice the feed ramp has been milled out of the frame. This allows for this much stronger barrel capable of taking higher pressure loads beyond what a normal 1911 with a typical unramped barrel will take. It yeilds greater reliability, especially with bullets other than fmj due to the change in ramp geometry, and yields a tighter, more precise lockup of the action. The para, Clark, lissner ramp is the strongest barrel setup available, and has even more beef than a Wilson/nowlin ramped barrel.The frame has also been tightened to the slide. The frame rails have been welded and recut to a precise fit. The slide feels as if it were on ball bearings. The attention given to every detail is evident at ever corner. For example, the beaver tail has also been blended to the frame, as has the rear of the slide to the frame along with the rear of the slide to the ejector and extractor. With the pistol in battery or the beaver tail depressed, the cracks just about disappear and the rear plane of the pistol becomes one smooth line. The frontstrap is checkered 25lpi. Take note of the perfect diamonds. This is because it wasn't done by hand. The frontstrap has been cut off, a pocket was milled into the frame, and a frontstrap with perfect diamonds made in house by Jim was rewelded in its place and the frame blended. Also notice the high cut above the front strap. The barrel is cut flush to the bushing and crowned 45 degrees. The trigger is worked to 3.5 - 4 pounds. There are zero metal injection molded parts left. All Cylinder & Slide, EGW, Wilson, Strayer Voigt and Ed Brown components were used. The slide, frame, and maybe a spring are Colt. The rest isn't. It has had exactly 8 rounds fired by Jim for testing.
