Description:
This is an extremely rare Harrington & Richardson model 777 "ULTRA" SPORTSMAN. Less than 1000 of these were hand built in 1938, and early1939 for the competition target market. This is a meticulously built 9 shot 22LR single action pistol, that was hand fit and finished in H&R's custom shop. The trigger on this pistol is butter smooth, with virtually no creep and a very short throw. The hammer has about a half draw length compared to the similar double action models from H&R. The cylinder is serial number matched to the gun,and machined to a fraction longer then a 22 LR shell, which leaves little travel space for the bullet between the cylinder an barrel. These guns have their own serial number range with a U prefix. This one is U183 of the roughly 1000 built. Target grips are in near perfect shape, with sharp checkering and nicely figured dark walnut color. There is a small amount of fleck to the blue on the barrel which is quite common, but is usually worse for a gun of this age. Bore is bright with strong rifling. It would be nearly impossible to improve on this 98% example of H&R precision workmanship. Do a little online research on this model, and I think you will be amazed at the effort that H&R invested to build a world class hand gun. Continuous 48 states only.
