Description:
This is an excellent example of the scarce model no. 27 in 25-20 center fire slide action. The model 27 without the S, suffix which means it does not have the de-cocking slide button on the right side of the receiver. Blue Book states it was built in 1910-1911 only, while the Standard Catalog states 1910-1916. The 24 inch octagon barrel has a VG to Exc. bore, with the correct and original sight package. Factory blue rates a strong 85-90% overall, with loss at the top tang from normal carrying. Wood stock is in great shape as well, showing only minor handling marks to the original finish. Forend appears refinished at some time. All metal to wood fits nicely, with no cracks and only minor imperfections. Crecent butt plate is correct and original. This is about as fine and original example as you could hope to encounter. Lower 48 states only. Payment by Postal Money Order. Add $45.00 shipping and insurance.
