Description:
This is the Rarest Variation of the Colt Root a collector could possibly find, only about 200 of these early Model 1's were manufactured. This Colt being Serial number 69, condition wise for being the early variation is very good with slight traces of finish in protected areas. Most of the original cylinder scene is visible. The matching serial number is found on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. Mechanically, this Root functions excellent. The grip has a slight crack through the toe (see picture). The case is absolutely authentic and original, The early Colts Patent marked Powder flask is near mint. The Colts Patent marked .28 Caliber bullet mold is the correct early type for this variation. Eley Bros Cap tin, and early screwdriver is also period correct. The lining has slight discoloration. The key for the case is retained still. Very rare and early variation.
