Cased Colt Root Model 7A, Serial number 12,5**, Extremely rare and sought after variation with the extremely hard to find 4 1/2" barrel. In my time of collection and dealing in Percussion Colts, I have only ever seen one other model 7A with this barrel length. This Colt has the matching number on the butt, cylinder, and barrel. The cylinder has the proper screw in cylinder for this variation. Most of the cylinder scene remains. .31 Caliber. The grip shows almost all of the original varnish. The frame shows 80% original blue finish, the barrel shows 60% turning to a pleasing patina. The hammer shows traces of the case hardened finish. The case is absolutely original and authentic and contains all original components, bullet mold, cap tin, screwdriver, nipple wrench, and the harder to find Colt Peacock flask. The key for the case is retained. The lining is excellent. This exact gun was once sold by Peter Holder for over $9,500 years back. Shipping is $30 plus actual insurance.
