Payment Types Accepted: Checks and Money Orders Description: We have on consignment a National Firearms Company branded Marlin Model 16 pump shotgun. In 16 gauge, modified choke. 28 inch barrel, takedown system, good bore, mechanically fine. A nice old pump shotgun. Very small localized areas of pitting. Missing butt plate. Handling marks expected with a shotgun over 100 years old. “National branded” means it was a shotgun made by Marlin for the now defunct National Firearms Company. They were made from 1904-1910. I have not taken it down yet but if I do I will measure the chamber length. These old shotguns have a niche collector following. Marlin declared the whole line of old hammer pumps as unsafe at some point (1998 I have been told) because some of them (the 1898 model for sure) would not lock up safely. If you buy it make sure a good gunsmith does the required safety checks on it. I did them and it works fine but I won’t guarantee this gun because of the Marlin history. Be sure and only shoot low pressure loads in any case. I have attached a number of photos of the wood…no visible cracks or missing slivers….it is a good restoration candidate. Checks are ok. Credit cards add 3%. Shipping and insurance $45. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
