Description:
A U.S. Model 1872 Light Calvary Sword, These saber were used for 32 year when the Army replaces them with the Model 1904 saber. The Model 1892 was a much lighter saber than the Model 1860. This change reflected the Army’s new emphasis on firearms. This Model is in as found condition. With a thin unmarked blade is in fair condition and scabbard has the two brass ring mounts. The reverse side has the eagle clutching arrows in one talon and the olive in the other side the sunburst releases form the grip guard over the entire guard. The leather grip is good condition. All in all a good of a Model 1872 saber
