It's chambered in .45-60 caliber. The rifle has a smooth, even chocolate patina. There are traces of blue in protected areas. The bore is excellent and the gun has no issues. The wood appears to be in the original finish, intact, with no cracks or missing pieces. There are, however, the typical dents and bruises to be expected on a rifle that's over 130 years old. The dust cover is missing. The gun is mechanically sound. The serial is in the 34,XXX range, meaning it was manufactured in 1883. The bore is a mirror wich much rifling remaining. ALl of the caliber markings and the barrel address are strong and legible. The sights are the standard sights. This is a very nice, original 1876!
