NAPOLEONIC Era Antique FRENCH FLINTLOCK Pistol
Late 18th Century Flint Pistol with Cannon Barrel
Here we present an antique French Flintlock Pistol, made circa the late 18th Century in France. This large bored pistol would have been intended for use as a self-defense firearm. It is relatively small, being able to fit into a pocket. The barrel is round and cannon shaped. Stocks are walnut and tightly fitting. The right side of the stock is faintly marked “AD”. Here is a small French flintlock that could have been around during the Napoleonic Wars, carried by a soldier heading off to war!
The overall condition is good. The markings are faint. The surfaces show wear with a gray patina. The stock is smooth and solid with normal handling marks. The bore is smooth and dark. The action is excellent.
