Description:

FRENCH Brass “CANNON BARREL” Flintlock Pistol

Turn of the Century Concealed Carry Flintlock

Here we present an antique “Cannon Barrel” Brass Flintlock Pistol, made circa late 1700s to early 1800s in turn of the century France. This pistol is small, light and simple. Typically a smaller pistol that was easily concealed. They were favored among the gentry and women because of these traits. Men would carry them concealed in a waistcoat pocket and women would hide them in a hand muff.
This attractive little pistol was made for self-defense inside point-and-shoot distances. The frame and barrel is made entirely of brass. The frame is handsomely adorned with a wire inlay.

The overall condition is good. Brass has a mellow patina. Wire inlay is 75% complete. Walnut stock has been repaired near the muzzle. The bore is smooth and clean. The action is strong and crisp. Here is a great little brass flintlock pistol from the late 1700s or early 1800s!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 4-3/8 inch octagon.
