U.S. Springfield Model 1865 First Allin 2-Band Trapdoor .58 RF rifle. This looks to be a Springfield Arsenal converted cadet rifle. Barrel has a gray patina. Breech block is in the black. Stock is in good shape with an “ESA” and “SWP” cartouches. About 270 1865 First Allin 2-Band Trapdoor rifles were cut down to make cadet rifles. Bore is dark and shows rifling.
