It's not often that we encounter a Generation 1 Glock Model 17 these days in any condition, much less a first year production gun that appears to have been fired very little. As you can see from the pictures, this Glock 17 shows some handling/storage marks but very little finish wear on the barrel in the chamber area or near the muzzle, which is where it occurs first when the gun is shot. This Gen 1 Glock is all-original and complete except for the high capacity magazine, which is a later production model. From the research we have done online it appears that this gun was manufactured in 1986, within the first few months that Glocks were imported into the States. All of the numbered parts are matching on this Glock and the Austrian proofs are nice and clear. The serial number plate in the frame is the correct black color which is correct for the early guns rather than the silver plates on the later guns. The polymer frame has the original distinctive pebbled finish on it including the front of the triggerguard, with no horizontal lines on the front or back straps. The pebbled finish is still nice and clean, and shows only some very minor wear and some small handling marks. The original factory "Tenifer" finish that was used on the Gen 1 guns is still in great shape, only showing a few very minor spots of high-edge and storage/carry wear. The bore in the original matching barrel is pristine and bright. There is no pitting or erosion whatsoever, and the rifling still looks sharp and new. The original non-adjustable sights are still in place and in good shape with consistent wear as it relates to the rest of the exterior of this G17. All of the internal parts appear to be the original Generation 1 parts that the gun left the factory with in 1986, including the 1-piece polymer plastic guide rod and non-captive recoil spring. The internals show little to no mechanical wear, further indicating very little actual shooting of this example during it's life. If you have been looking to add a nice lightly used Generation 1 Glock 17 to your collection this example would be an excellent choice. These guns seem to go up in value every year, with all-original and un-altered examples in good condition extremely hard to find.
