We normally ship USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day ship. Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. This is an excellent example of a long-range hunting rifle. The Model 700 is one the best bolt action rifles available and is prized for its long-range shooting abilities. The SPS is a subvariant intended for hunting at great distances while being light enough to carried over long distances. The rifle is equipped with a Barska 10-40x50mm Varmint scope which is well suited to sighting targets at distance. Chambered for the well-known 22-250 round, this SPS would be very effective for hunting varmints out to 400 yards. In fact, given the recent advances in bullet construction, bullets in the 60-70gr range could be used effectively for deer giving the 22-250 a level of versatility it didn’t have when it was originally introduced. The 22-250 today is loaded with standard bullet weights to velocities around 4000fps (or higher). To give the reader an idea of how fast this is, when shooting the rifle with a good scope, the shooter should be able to see the bullet hit the target BEFORE the recoil from the gun moves the sight picture off the target. Overall, the rifle is in excellent condition. The stainless finish exhibits no scratches or other wear marks. The bore is particularly clean as is the action with little powder residue being present, suggesting the rifle was either fired on an infrequent basis or never fired at all. If you want an excellent, long range varmint rifle, a 700 in 22-250 is a fine choice.
