Winchester 1892 lever action rifle, chambered in .44-40 (.44 WCF). This rifle was made in the first year of production, 1892. Mechanically good, everything works and functions well. The bore is pitted in places and brown but the rifling is strong and very “shootable”. Exterior finishes appear to be original and grade: antique fair to good. Modern grading I would call the rifle 40-50%. 24” octagon barrel with correct buckhorn rear sight and silver blade front sight. Straight grip stock with crescent steel butt plate. This is a very early ANTIQUE rifle suitable for any Winchester lever collection.
