1943 WWII, M1 Carbine Rifle, Ellis Family Estate carried in battle by a member of the family who returned with this rifle in hand.
A week after America's entry into WWII, National Postal Meter and the Todd Corporation partnered to start the Rochester Defense Corporation. It was this company that negotiated for the contract to produce M1 Carbines. Shortly after the approval of their 2nd contract, but before production started, Rochester Defense Corporation was dissolved and its assets merged into National Postal Meter.
Manufactured by National Postal Meter Company Rochester NY in 1943. The Rifle was maintained in its original condition. Unique as the receiver was also manufactured by National Postal Meter as well. There were only four companies that produced Receivers Including Winchester Arms.
Mfg.: 1943 first run production, In excellent Original/Patina working condition, 30 Cal., 18’’ Barrel, Bayonet receiver, Micro adjustable sights and original magazine,sling. Metal in excellent condition, bore looks great and the wood saw battle but retains original condition no cracks or alteration. (Alterations being refinished wood or Metal) Often decreasing the value to a collector.
