This 1936 Mauser-made S/42 code Luger is all-matching numbers and original finish gun with 1 matching magazine, the original 1936 dated holster, and a Simson extra magazine that is period correct but not numbered to this gun. It is a great looking rig that has absolutely seen combat, it's not a minty rig that spent WW2 in a desk drawer! The original factory blue finish on this Mauser has a great patina to it. The blue finish shows some holster and high-edge wear, as well as finish wear to the grip straps. The original "strawed" small parts show traces of the original yellow finish in worn areas and some nice bright yellow in the protected areas. The bore in this Luger is excellent, it's mirror bright and clean with nice strong rifling and no pitting. The original grips are still intact and in good shape overall. The left grip panel has a little damage to the upper portion of the grip, possibly some battle damage given it's odd location in the upper center area. The checkering on the grips show some light wear but the checkering still has some nice grip to it. The internals of this Luger are in excellent condition. We stripped this pistol down and all of the internal numbered parts match and show very little to no mechanical wear. All of the controls on this Luger are in perfect working order, and the action is in excellent condition and 100% functional. As mentioned earlier, this Mauser Luger comes with 1 original matching magazine that it left the factory with. That magazine is in excellent condition and perfect working order. It is the original primary magazine for this gun, while the extra magazine in this rig is a non-matching Simson "re-work" magazine from the early 1930's. The original holster with this Luger is a very nice example. It is dated 1936 like the Luger, and it maker marked "Hans Romer Neu-Ulm". The leather is in excellent condition, it is still nice and flexible and soft. It has obviously has been cared for and conditioned since it was brought to the States. The original stitching is all intact and tight, including the tool pouch stitching on the inside of the lid. All of the belt loops, lifting strap, and extra magazine pouch are in great shape and functional. This Mauser Luger rig would be the perfect choice for someone who wants an all-original combat used piece that is nice enough to be a great investment, but not so perfect that you would feel bad shooting it. It's not too often that we get these Lugers "out of the woodwork" so to speak, and even less often that they show up as a rig with the holster and one original matching mag with them!
