Description:
SOLD....Antique Remington 1875 revolver. Here is a nice and solid 1875 Remington revolver. Caliber is in the 44-40... Has the standard 7 1/2” barrel. This is the earlier MFG with pinched front sight and lanyard ring on bottom of grip frame. The metal is a smooth medium brown patina. This was a blued gun and not nickel plated as many were. Just a trace of blue around one of the trigger guard bows.. No pitting on the gun but a little bit of very light pin pricks on the bottom of the under barrel web. Barrel address is excellent and clear. Mechanics are excellent. Crisp and tight as a new gun. Lock up is rock solid with no cylinder movement. No front to rear or side to side movement either. This gun is rock solid in every way. Grips are very nice with no cracks or chips. The bore is very strong with just mild roughness with no big pits or craters. Frames screws are clean and not burred up. The trigger guard screw show some turning but still very serviceable. Not much more to say about this one. These were pretty popular guns on the frontier and Frank James carried a pair of these in nickel finish. This is one gun out of many that I sold to a good friend many years ago and will be listing a lot more soon. He is buying some property and needs the money so we are selling these at about the same price he bought them for years ago. This is a very good solid 1875 Remington and much better than beat up worn out ones you see for sale. You do not see many of this model for sale as much as you use to years ago. The price is very reasonable also. $35 insured shipping in the USA. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Not liable for miss use or lack of knowledge of loading and firing antique firearms.
