Description:
16 bore,  44" part octagon to round barrel with wedding band turns.  Proofs and maker's touchmarks in gold on the barrel.  Flat lock and cock with gold touchhole.  Half stock with brass mounts and wooden triggerguard ending with a steel buttplate.  I fabulous condition retaining most of the iridescent blue finish on the barrel.  The lock and hammer polished bright.  Excellent wood with carving under the forend and along the sides and bottom of the buttstock.  Screws and buttplate browned. Mint bore.  Peter Wittemann  worked from 1710-34 in Giessen, Hessen.  Magnificent.
