Westley Richards & Co. 20g Hand Detachable Lock Ovundo O/U Shotgun. Featuring a scroll back action with Westleys' patent Hand Detachable Locks, hinged cover plate, snap lever, automatic "beetle" back safety and single selective Patent One Trigger. Action is engraved in Westley's classic small scroll House pattern.
The 28 Barrels have 2 1/2" chambers and are sleeved bearing 1997 London proof marks. Original solid top rib is concave and engine turned and original side ribs, the left one marked: "Westley Richards 23 Conduit St. London Gun Makers by Appointment to His Majesty George V. Rexet Imp."
Forend has a horn tip and Deeley latch and the semi pistol grip stock has 14 7/16" LOP over a leather pad. Stock oval remains blank.
Gun is furnished in a Maker's lightweight leather case.
Overall, gun is excellent as re-furbished with re-blacked barrels and furniture, refinished wood and a new butt pad. A wonderfully lively gun as useful in the dove field as it would be on a quail plantation.
