Description:
Introducing an exquisitely engraved Light 12, built in 1959. The shotgun has three barrels, all 28". One is not engraved, vent rib, INVP, Japanese. One is engraved, Belgium, no rib, and includes the Cutts compensator. The third barrel is vent rib, Belgium, Mod choked, engraved. Buttstock is fiery fiddleback walnut. Forearm is tiger striped walnut. Hand checkered in an exqusite leaf and wing pattern. Original FN fancy buttplate.
Arnold Griebel was one of, if not the finest engraver of the late 40's, 50's, and 60's. His work is considered by experts, superior to that of the Winchester factory engravers of his time. The left side is engraved in mountain lake and waterfowl scenes, featuring a gold Mallard, and a gold Eagle flying with a large fish in talons. Left side of receiver is engraved with a mountain meadow and Chukar. Also on left side is a farm pasture with Bobwhite Quail. Please see photos for engraving.
