Description:
This is a very good original Type 1 AK47 bayonet from East Germany. This bayonet has the serial number electro-pencil engraved on the crosspiece and has the black plastic grip scales unique to the East Germany. It also has the “WUK" on the inside of the snap on the frog snap. This early type bayonet was designed as an after thought for the original AK’s which did not have a bayonet lug. Overall length is 12 1/2" with an 8" blade which appears unsharpened. There is a minor 1" dent at the top front of the scabbard and has surface marks from light use. Overall a very nice, early bayonet. Please see photos for details on condition.
