What a most outstanding IHC M1 Garand this is and exactly as follows: Starting with a matching ‘’CMP’’ receiver and barrel set owner had it restored with all beautiful and virtually mint parts on a most superb and minty IHC serial number 5003---receiver and minty ‘’LMR 6-54’’ barrel! The Bore with only a patch ran through it rates Excellent and the throat gauges at only a 3 on an original arsenal gauge that goes from 1-10. Again, going by the SN and barrel date this appears to be the receivers original barrel These simply do not get any better that is for sure! The ‘’IHC’’ marked bolt other than expected minor cycling wear rates appx 98%. The later (correct) period complete rear sight other than simply the top areas of the ears also rates appx 98%. With both knobs of contract manufacture. The gas cylinder assembly rates appx 98% with the correct ‘’wide ears’’ sight rating 98%+. The gas cylinder lock is correctly the ‘’high hump’’ variation rating appx 98%. The gas cylinder plug is correctly the late grenade launcher poppet type of contract manufacture. The correct center band rates 99% and has the correct ‘’roll pin’’. Basically the only marked parts I can find that are of ‘’SA’’ manufacture is the ‘’D 36342 SA’’ marked operating rod and also the SA-5 hammer, These also retain the same high % of finish. FYI: None of the parts appear to have any commercial or non military finish and again all parts are of exceptional high quality and also of a high % remaining finish. The entire birch wood set is all totally original U.S. Military/Arsenal manufacture (NOT Commercial) rating Mint and all pieces match exceptionally in all respects including their tight perfect fit. There are no markings on the stock. It is simply a New original U.S. Arsenal wood set! Typically the butt plate shows wear mostly on its bottom including one screw that is higher but both have exceptional slots. (A very exceptional rifle thru out! Plus it comes complete with its CMP Documentation on the receiver/barrel set! (Of course it is Not Import Marked) *<>Curio &Relic FFL Legal Item<>
