Description:
Scarce 50 round 2 piece box of CIL 44-40 sealing cartridges. These limited production cartridges were built for the seal. Hunting in Atlantic Canada and in the Canadian North. These flat nosed lead bullets were built for maximum impact and to minimize pelt damage. The 44-40 cartridge was popular in N.F.L.D. especially by the shore hunters and the northern eskimos. These cartridges were loaded by Dominion/Cil for a very limited market. Full boxes of these cartridges are very difficult to find. This box shows the special sealing label and a brown paper overlay of the conventional box cover. A very scarce collector grade box of 44-40.
