SALE PENDING. This is an outstanding Colt 1878 that was made in 1889 and very well cared for over the past 130 years. It is serial number 22507 marked properly on the butt with the last three digits 507 on the back of the cylinder. The etched panel is clear and sharp, one of the best I’ve seen. The action functions properly with tight lock up in the full cock position. The bore is shiny and clean with a very minor area of light roughness. The markings are all crisp and readable. Assembly number 257 on the loading gate. The hard rubber grips fit very well and appear to be original to this gun with very minor spread from screw over tightening. The lanyard swivel is missing the loop. I expect it was removed on purpose many years ago. The gun retains well over 90% original factory applied nickel finish. Three day inspection privilege with a full refund if returned in same condition, unfired and undamaged. Buyer pays return shipping costs. More photos can be provided upon request.
