Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Bank Check, Cashier Check, USPS Money Order preferred Description: Savage collectors know that this very handsome and unique version of the great many 99 iterations made is one of the most distinctive with its hand checkered stock set, monte carlo comb, damacented (engine turned) bolt, case colored lever, gold trigger and checkered caped pistol grip cap. Produced only from 1960 to 1973 however the more attractive ones were the hand checkered versions (pre 1965) as is this one. Other than some very light frosting on left side of the receiver, lever boss and lever, this gun retains almost all of the deep lusterous blue and almost all of the original stock finish (small area left side rear of receiver where finish is light). No non factory holes and checkering is still extra sharp and approx perfect. This model retains many of the features that makes so many folks enamoured of 99's (cartridge counter, cocking indicator, hand checkering, rotary magazine and handsome distinctive styling with the better and more handy upper tang safety. LOP to end of pad is 13 3/8ths. Pad is old and dry and not perfect. Easily replaced. This is a C&R qualified gun Will consider layaways and fair minded trades. Absolutedly free of the split behind upper tang so common in 99's. A small drying check left side is visible in one pic.
