PENDING SALE This is a nice early Model 21 Trap Grade Skeet gun. A 12 bore with 26 inch barrels, it was made in 1935 as confirmed by the Winchester factory letter. Shipped to a gun shop in Dayton, Ohio, the stock shield says Robert Patterson 1935 Dayton Ohio. There is a lot of information I will supply with the gun regarding Robert Patterson. The Patterson family was a huge presence in Ohio from the 1700’s on. I believe this gun was a gift from father to son in 1935. The son passed away in 2009 at age 90. The gun itself is very attractive. The trap Grade wood as specified in the letter is superb. It is beautifully engraved in a Winchester #4 pattern, but I believe it was added later. There is no mention in the letter. It does have a factory look and is very well done. There is, what appears to be, a silver maple leaf ?? inlayed in the bottom of the pistol grip and a silver arrow head inlayed in the forearm. These are expertly done and their meaning is unknown to me. The metal has excellent finish with one area of wear on the floor plate. The wood and checkering are excellent. Bores and mechanics are excellent. The pad is obviously a recent replacement that deserves to be changed to either a Winchester pad or a leather covered pad. Nevertheless it is functional and fitted nicely. An interesting gun that will make a fine shooter will definitely draw attention at the club or in the field. My price includes shipping and insurance.
