Description:
General Specs: Winchester, .416 Rem Mag, 9lbs 3oz, LOP 13 3/4"
Serial Number: G289145

Mention the name Sterling Davenport in a serious group of big-game hunters and all will snap to attention.  From svelte plains game rifles to the heaviest of dangerous game rifles, Sterling Davenport has outfitted rifleman with knowledge and taste since the mid-1970’s.  Google his name and you will have pages of write-ups regarding his work in the finest shooting journals in the country.  This full custom rifle in .416 Remington Magnum produced by Sterling Davenport of Tuscon, AZ is built on a modern, LEFT HANDED Winchester Model 70 Safari Express action with controlled round feed and appears to be unfired since built.  The 24" custom Douglas barrel is button rifled chrome moly steel with an added recoil lug, hooded ramp front sight, banded sling stud, and a quarter rib with a single standing leaf express sight.  The rifle is guaranteed to shoot 1” groups at 100 yards.  The Ted Blackburn bottom metal has the drop box magazine (adds an extras round) with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release is custom fitted to perfection. The trigger is absolutely the finest I have ever felt, breaking like a glass rod cleanly at 3.5lbs. pull every time.  The rifle is stocked in dense English Walnut, beautifully figured and laid out as a big bore should be, with darkly contrasting mineral streaks, shadow line cheekpiece, a skeleton grip cap, two screw inletted rear sling stud, ebony forend tip, double crossbolts with ebony caps, and a 13 3/4" LOP to a Decelerator pad.  The rifle weighs 9lbs.  Sterling Davenport is a hunter. He knows both design and function very well. This gun is built the way a big bore should be.  Sterling Davenport has retired and will be building no more guns, making the guns he built to date all the more desirable and coveted.  FOR YOU LEFTIES OUT THERE, YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FIND A GREAT RIFLE BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP FOR A LEFT-HANDED SHOOTER.  DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE ON THIS ONE.  IT IS PRICED TO SELL!  Thanks for looking.
