Description:
Two-Handed Longsword

Two-handed/ hand-and-a-half hilt with simple side rings on each side. Blade features a lenticular cross section with two opposing crecent moon symbols. The crescent moons, in pairs, are well known in Saharan regions primarily in North Africa and found on various broadsword blades. These occur invariably at blade center near fullers. We know that large volumes of these blades came from Europe as trade products. We also know that these 'trade' blades apparently inspired native armourers to apply these marks to blades they made as well as others. This may be a German made trade sword or the blade may be North African which would make this a composite piece.

ORIGIN: Europe/ North Africa
SIZE: Blade length 36”, 45” overall
