Description:
Overall gun is 57" long and .50 caliber with curly maple stock.  Double set triggers.  1849 is impressed on the cock.  Gun was obviously built for someone of means at that time.  I had the gun to a well respected expert black powder gunsmith for a good going over and they found the initials "RUM" underneath the barrel along with "L" and "PY" made more readable by tracing over paper.  The paper from the gunsmith as shown in the photo will go with the gun.  He replaced the nipple and got the double set triggers to function properly and cleaned the gun.  He believes the ramrod is original (or at least not recent). It is ready to fire with no issues if one desires.  There are several minor cracks near the lock and at the end of the butt along with a few minor dings but nothing serious.  I am selling because I have one other similar PA rifle and have no room for two + need some work done on the house.  Gun is believed to be from the central New York area.  For more information or pictures I can be reached at 570-971-2773.  I have one other extrmely rare and unique rifle I am selling as listed on this .  I would be willing to make a good deal on both together. I am not a dealer.
