Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. The Mosin-Nagant is one of the most important rifles in military history having served with Russian/Soviet forces since 1891 all the way until after World War II and continues to see use even today on the modern battlefield although no longer in the hands of Russian soldiers. It is a very simple design compared to its contemporaries such as the SMLE/Lee-Enfield, Mausers 91-98, Springfield 1903, Lebel 1886 and Arisaka Types 38 and 99. This was done intentionally so for the Russian army at the time consisted mostly of illiterate conscripts. Thusly, the rifle had to be easy to disassemble, clean, and re-assemble as well as have a simple firing operation. One unique result of this design policy is the sights. These are designed to be used with the bayonet attached to the rifle. Almost any other military rifle is the exact opposite. Attaching a bayonet can potentially reduce the accuracy of those rifles, but for the Mosin-Nagant, removing the bayonet can reduce accuracy. The rifle here was built at the Izhevsk in 1943 at the height of the Great Patriotic War as World War II is known to the Russian people. Despite the existence of the more advanced SVT-40 semi-auto rifle, the Mosin-Nagant was kept in production because it was far less expensive to produce and much easier to train someone to use. The rifle 91/30 is in good condition for its age. The stock has much of the finish intact compared to those that saw heavy use. The bore has good, visible rifling. All serial numbers match, including the bayonet. Also included is a twin ammo pouch and a twin cleaning tools pouch as well. The cleaning pouch contains the standard cleaning tools and oil container. The rifle comes with a nice sling as well. There is an optional lot of ammo that can be purchased with this rifle. It includes one 440-round spam can (unopened), a box of 400 rounds of the same ammo type in twenty 20-round paper packets, and one 20-round box of S&B 180gr SP hunting ammo. The total count is 860 rounds. The price the ammo is 240.00 for everything plus 40.00 for shipping (it would have to be shipped separately from the rifle). The rifle itself is the given price below plus the usual 30.00 for firearms shipment.
