This lightly used vintage Ruger Old Model Vaquero is a very handsome single action revolver. It was manufactured in 1998 and appears to have been carried and fired very little during it's life. The factory case colored frame still shows lots of nice bright colors, and the factory high-gloss blue finish on the cylinder, barrel, and triggerguard/grip frame is still bright and beautiful. This was certainly one of the most attractive factory finish combinations offered for this model. The 5.5" inch barrel has a perfect bore in it, bright and pristine with no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible. The cylinder bores are equally as clean. The original smooth hardwood grips with black and silver Ruger medallions are in excellent condition, and were perfectly fit by the factory to the grip frame. The mechanics of this Vaquero are in perfect working order. The single action operation is smooth and precise, with the cylinder perfectly "in time" whether cocked fast or slow. When at full lock the cylinder locks up nice and tight with no slop. The trigger is excellent on this Ruger, breaking crisply with a light pull with no grittiness or excessive travel. This .45 Long Colt Ruger Old Model Vaquero comes with it's original box complete with the factory end label that is serial numbered to this gun. Sorry, there is no owners manual or gun lock in the box. If you have been looking for a classy and attractive single action revolver to shoot and carry that will also serve as an investment, this Old Model Vaquero would be an excellent choice. These vintage Ruger Vaqueros are well known for their excellent reliability, build quality, and collectibility.
