Description:
This is a very nice antique Colt Single Action Army, Model 1873, made in 1890, in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt SAA has become one of the most iconic firearms in history.
This revolver has the Antique ,Colt Black Powder, frame that preceded the more modern “smokeless” frame. The revolver is chambered for .41Colt Cartridge. The top of the barrel reads “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.” . This is hard to read but does show up under magnification. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT.SEPT.19.1871/JULY 2.72. /JAN 19.75”. The front left of the trigger guard bow is marked “45 CAL”.
The overall condition is very good . The Nickeled finish is about 85% present. Has a few small marks in metal finish. All serial numbers match. The hard-rubber "EAGLE & LOGO" grips are in very good condition, showing some smoothing from age. Grips are un-numbered. The bore is well-rifled and shows a little oxidation.. The action is strong. Indexes and locks up properly with all the clicks. Revolver comes with an archive letter that states it is in it's original configuration , as shipped from the factory on July 26, 1890. original Buyer Pays $20.00 shipping to the lower 48 states.
