When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done.  The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation.  A strikingly handsome gun made with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN.  Most double gun enthusiasts are keenly aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself.  With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm.  This fine M21 Standard Grade, sn17431 built in 1943, is a great example of a vintage gun with the very best of modern shooting features.  With perfect mirror bores, barrels tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face, crisp single selective trigger, strong well-timed ejectors, great shooting dimensions, and in the same configuration as when it left the factory 75 years ago, she is mechanically sound and pretty to look as well.  The barrels retain 99% blue, the receiver retains 90% original factory blue, the nicely figured walnut stocks have perfect checkering, and it is choked perfect for sporting clays or upland birds…even waterfowl over decoys…a very versatile Winchester M21.  Put a pocket full of spreader loads in your left pocket on the sporting clays course and you have all the possible targets covered, near or far.  There are no cracks or repairs in the wood, the mechanics and screws are perfect, all ready for the highest volume, heaviest loads you would ever want to feed into a shotgun.  This is not your usual Model 21, as most 12ga. M21 guns weigh 8lbs. or more and are too heavy for most to consider a good field gun.  This gun weighs in at 7lbs. 3oz. and balances perfectly between the hands.  That is on the light side for American double guns and ultralight for a M21, especially with 30” barrels!  I like the splinter forend for field use much better than the beavertail.  Usually when you see a splinter forend on a M21 it has two triggers and extractors.  This one has the best SST and ejectors ever developed…a perfect bird and clays gun.  Don’t let this one get away.  Thanks for looking!
