U.S. Springfield Model 1868 Trapdoor .50-70 caliber rifle. U.S Springfield model 1868 Trapdoor rifle. Barrel is in the white with areas of patina. Lock plate is dated 1864. Stock is in great shape, does show handling wear. Cartouches are present. Bore has strong rifling with area of pitting. Overall good looking early Trapdoor rifle in .50-70!
