Description:
Excellent Remington 1903a3, not 1903 Springfield, guaranteed to be an original all GI rifle. The butt stock is an excellent condition, Remington S type with the square cut for the lower barrel band spring, plus the correct cartouches and inspector markings typical of Remington production rifles. It also has the large SS stamping that indicates that the rifle was inspected and declared "servicable surplus" prior to being released for sale to the civilian market. The stock set is in excellent condition and all markings are sharp and well-struck. The 2-groove barrel is marked Remington 10-43 and has the correct P proof on the underside of the barrel. The bore is immaculate and the bolt face shows no sign of wear. The stock furniture and butt plate are all original blued Remington manufacture, and are so marked with the exception of the upper band which is parkerized. The bolt body is marked with an R on the underside of the bolt handle, and with a punch mark. The bolt shroud is marked with an R, as are the sights, cut-off, cocking piece and front sight cover. The entire bolt assembly is blued and is in excellent condition. This rifle appears to have been checked and tested at the Ogden Arsenal and place into war reserve, with little if any alteration. The flat buckle webb sling is also in excellent condition and is unmarked, but it too is guaranteed original. There is a 3-day, non firing, no disassembly inspection period starting from the time of delivery to your FFL holder. All returns must be recieved in the exact same condition in which they were originally sent to the buyer. Buyer pays all shipping and FFL transfer fees. As with all vinatage firearms, this rifle should be checked by a competent gunsmith before being fired. There is no shooting warranty on any used gun sale.
