Those who shoot the game of Skeet have seen the Model 1100 shoot tens of thousands of rounds without fail, and the guns are made and balanced to withstand the rigors of world class competition. The Model 1100 production gun was produced in large numbers and you can acquire a 28ga. or .410 in nice condition for about $1200. For those who desired to own a fine shotgun with hand engraving, highly-figured wood with hand cut checkering and a mullered border… a gun with distinction and beauty, Remington Arms Custom Shop would fulfill that desire with a custom ordered D GRADE MODEL 1100. The cost of the D Grade was 8 times the cost of the production gun, so not many were shipped. In today’s world the cost of a Remington D Grade would exceed $6000. The guns being offered here, serial number L-167867J and L-167868H made in 1966, are a RARE, CONSECUTIVELY SERIAL NUMBERED PAIR of the Custom Shops D Grade guns which have barely been shot, as they have 100% factory blue finish throughout, with no wear on the bottom of the frame. These high-grade Custom Shop Remington guns were highly polished to perfection and the blue is deep and rich in color. These are not production quality guns! The highly-figured walnut stocks receive a hardy high-gloss finish and are hand-checkered to perfection with the mullered style border as seen on fine English shotguns. There are only a few light handling marks in the finish of either gun, and they do not make it to the wood. TO BE SURE, FINDING A CONSECUTIVELY NUMBERED PAIR OF D GRADE REMINGTON MODEL 1100’S IS A RARE EVENT. DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A GREAT SET OF SMALL BORE REMINGTONS! These beautiful guns would make a great pair for your safe and for your skeet tournaments and winter league “Pee Wee” shoots. These Custom Shop guns are not often offered for sale and usually have a good deal of wear to them, as they were meant to be shot.
