Description:
Excellent Remington 1903, not 03A3, guaranteed to be an original all GI rifle. The butt stock is an excellent condition, WWII manufacture C type with the cartouche and inspector markings appropriate for a post-war San Antonio Arsenal rebuild. The stock set is in excellent condition and all markings are sharp and well-struck. The 4-groove barrel is marked SA 6-42 and comes with a period-correct front sight cover. The bore is absolutely immaculate and the bolt face shows no sign of wear. The stock furniture and butt plate are all milled, and the butt plate is checkered. The bolt body is marked BF47 (SA 1942 manufacture) on top of the bolt handle, and with a punch mark and the letter Z on the under side of the handle root. The bolt shroud is marked with an R, as are the safety, rear sight assembly and upper band. This rifle appears to have been extensively rebuilt at SAA sometime  between the end of WWII and its closing in 1949. The webb sling is also in excellent condition and is marked MRT MAY 1952 - it too is guaranteed to be original G I issue. This exceptionally handsome rifle would make a fine addition to any WWII era military collection and also has the potential to be used as a competition-grade shooter as well. There is a 3-day, non firing, no disassembly inspection period starting from the time of delivery to your FFL holder. All returns must be recieved in the exact same condition in which they were originally sent to the buyer. Buyer pays all shipping and FFL transfer fees. As with all vinatage firearms, this rifle should be checked by a competent gunsmith before being fired. There is no shooting warranty on any used gun sale. Shooter safety is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Thanks for your interest. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. S&I are a flat $45.00 in the lower 48 states plus $35,00 FFL fee.
