Description:
This is a beautiful minty and unfired Winchester Model 1895 Grade 1 rifle in .270 Winchester caliber made by Miroku of Japan for Winchester sometime during 1998 or 1999. This Model 1895 comes with the original box, the owner's manual, and the original rear sight (minus the elevator) which was removed when the Marbles Tang Sight was installed by the previous owner. Miroku made the Model 1895 Grade 1 rifles from 1997 to 2004, with a limited run in 2010 as well. The .270 Winchester chambering was discontinued in 1999 so this chambering is somewhat scarce in this rifle as there were less than 3 years of production in this caliber. Miroku-built Model 1895's are known for being very well made with lots of attention to detail, fit, and finish. The craftsmanship on this rifle is certainly second to none for a modern production rifle. This particular rifle was bought new by the previous owner and put up into storage until now. It has never been fired or carried afield, and the action has only been worked a handful of times since it left the factory. The beautiful gloss blue factory finish rates 99%, and the bore is flat mint with sharp rifling and no imperfections. The factory checkered Walnut stock set is exceptional on this Model 1895. The wood is beautiful and in like-new condition with lots of contrasting grain and figure in it. The checkered panels are crisp and clean, and the stock hardware and buttplate are in excellent shape. As mentioned before, this 1895 has a Marbles tang-mounted peep sight installed on it which really looks good on this model. The original box to the sight is inside the rifle box, and it contains different-sized peep apertures and the original factory rear sight for the rifle. It appears that the original rear sight elevator has been lost. This Winchester Model 1895 is as nice as it gets for these rifles and would be an excellent addition to any collection as well as an excellent long-term investment. It would be all but impossible to upgrade from this beautiful rifle!
