Antique AMERICAN “BULL DOG” 38 Centerfire Revolver

Made by Iver Johnson Circa 1883/84

Here we present an antique “AMERICAN BULL-DOG” .38 Double Action centerfire revolver, made circa 1883/84 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, by Iver Johnson. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and  motorcycle  manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century.

This revolver features a double/single action trigger and five shots of .38 Long Centerfire. The double action trigger is smooth and the single action trigger is crisp. The top of the barrel is marked “AMERICAN BULL DOG” and the grips have an eagle molded into them. The entirety is very nicely nickel plated.

The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is near complete. The markings are clear and legible. The eagle trademarked hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is bright and sharp. The action is excellent.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 2-1/2 inches in length.

Caliber: .38 Long Centerfire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
