Description:
***   SOLD   ***   This Greener boxlock non-ejector, number 41192, was made circa 1894 and has 28-1/2” nicely figured Damascus barrels. It also has a Greener cross-bolt for strength, a Greener side-safety and extractors. Game gun weight at 6lb 10oz.  ***    The 28-1/2” Damascus barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. They are topped with a raised solid crosshatched rib. The rib is inscribed “W.W. Greener St. Mary’s Square Birmingham England  Winner At All Gun Trials 1875 - 1891” The right barrel is bored.738 with a constriction of 0.007 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.032. The left barrel is also bored 0.738 and has a constriction of 0.013 for Light Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.033. The barrels are black powder proofed and the bores are shiny. There is a small dent on the side of the right barrel near the muzzle that can easily be repaireded by a gunsmith. With their great wall thickness they will be safe to shoot with low pressure loads such as those made by RST Shotshells.   ***   The Monte Carlo stock and splinter forearm are made from lightly figured walnut. The forearm has a Deeley latch and an ebony tip which shows a little wear. Length of Pull is 14-5/16” with very low drop dimensions on the monte carlo. Cast off for the righthanded shooter. There is a repaired crack on the right side of the stock near the rear of the grip and some damage near the right toe and in the right pistol grip checkering. These latter two are cosmetic rather than structural.   ***   This W.W. Greener is made on a strong action but has some issues that the new owner will want to address as listed above. Great starter double from a renowned and innovative English maker.  ***   Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. At this price the gun is sold “As Is” with no return.
