EXCELLENT CIVIL WAR AMES MODEL 1860 U.S. NAVY CUTLASS AND SCABBARD. 32” o/a with 26” blade inspected and dated on the ricasso “U.S.N./D.R./1862”. Ames address on the obverse. Inside forward lip of guard rack number stamped “23M/831”. Excellent overall with fine blade, original grip wrap and good markings. Particularly fine scabbard with the tip still intact and not cracked. Has all the copper rivets. Original leather frog. Best scabbard on one of these we have had. Superior example.
