EARLY 2ND YEAR WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 FLAT SIDE .30 U.S. CAL. (.30-40 KRAG) RIFLE. Very low 3 digit serial number in the 6xx range. All original with 28” round rapid taper barrel stamped at breech “.30 U.S.”. Early patent date stamp on the trigger plate. Upper tang stamped “WINCHESTER / MODEL 1895”. Walnut stock and forend. Very good overall with most of the barrel blue. Frame a grey patina. Stock and forend with lightly worn and patinated original finish. Working order and excellent plus bore which is unusual for one of these early 1895 Winchesters particularly in this caliber.
