RUSSIAN PERCUSSION .65 CALIBER SMOOTHBORE SP0RTING GUN SIGNED BY THE MAKER AND DATED 1847. 45” o/a with 29” octagon barrel signed n Cyrillic on the top flat with the maker’s name and dated 1847. Lock plate dated 1846 and lightly floral engraved. Full length walnut stock in the German manner with ornate brass butt plate and fancy cheek rest with complimentary floral raised carving. Silver wrist escutcheon with entwined monogram. Very good overall with grey metal and stock with the original old finish. Has old well done repair at the wrist-very hard to see. Old bone tipped wood rod. Working order with a dark bore. We seldom see antique Russian sporting arms.
