Description:
Fantastic early Westley Richards percussion fowler game gun. SN#: 1381. 30" damascus steel extractor barrels marked " WESTLEY RICHARDS on 170 NEW BOND STREET LONDON" on top rib.  Birmingham proofs and matching numbers on tubes. Choked IC/M. Westley Richards patent top lever opener and sidelock rebounding hammer action. Double triggers. Nicely figured English walnut checkered straight grip stock with steel buttplate. Checkered forend with horn tip. Dimensions: 14 1/8" LOP x 1 3/4" x 2 1/4". Weight 7lbs2oz. Cased in oak & leather case with maker's label.

Condition: Gun is in very nice overall original condition. Barrel brown approximately 50% and thinning but still visible and without rubs. Bores clean and bright. Original case colors muddled but present, clearly seen on water table. Action tight and on-face. Hammer springs strong and all functions well. Wood retains much of its cared for oil finish and no doubt was factory quality maintained over it's life. Checkering very good overall. Small repair to forend wood at knuckle. Case relined in green baize and is in excellent condition. Outer leather case has been painted to look like brown leather, otherwise solid and without tears or major flaws.

Gentlemen, this is a lovely vintage gun that would be a great addition to any collection or possibly a nice game gun with appropriate loads.
