Description:
This is a NIB grade 4 Winchester 1873 in .44-40, made by Miroku of Japan under license from Winchester Gun Company. This run of rifles was made about 20 years ago (I am told) and was sold partially "in the white", meaning that the frame, lever, barrel and other parts had no finish. This run of extra fancy 1873s was intended to serve as the basis for custom projects. This rifle wears new bone charcoal case colors on its frame, side plates, forend cap, lever, hammer, trigger and buttplate. The barrel has been rust blued in the traditional fashion. Loading gate and mag tube are factory hot blued, lacquer finish applied to protect case colors, fine checkering freshly oiled, and test fired for function. Box and factory paperwork included. NO TANG SAFETY on this model. (If you fancy a tang mounted peep sight rather than the buckhorn, Marbles sells a nice "drop-in" model for about $120 which mounts in the existing plugged top tang holes.)  The photos will tell the rest of the story. This rifle is not to be confused with the current grade 1 colored Winchester 1873s on the market, which are of much lower quality. Feel free to ask any questions. $75 insured priority mail shipping to lower 48. 3 day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period begins upon receipt by FFL.
