Description:
D prefix serial number puts manufacture in early 1900-1920. Case color hardened receiver with Marlin-Hepburn rear sight, along with step adjustable rear sight on barrel. 26 inch blues octagon "special smokeless steel" barrel, in almost too good to be true condition. Wood is smooth American walnut with straight stock, and finish issues in a few place, both on fore end and butt stock. AMES has been burned into the right side of the butt stock wood. Crescent steel butt pad, unmarked.
