#4945 Colt S/A, 7-1/2”x 44/40, matching 51XXX range(1880), Fine bore, about an 8-8+ on a scale of 10 and having a tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer. The crisp smooth metal is very fine with no appreciable pitting and just a thin dark grey-brown patina on the barrel, straps, cylinder, and the frame. Fine markings except the patent dates which show 60% wear, and it has the standard wood grips with medium wear to both the right and left sides and just a couple of shallow lightly cut letters. There are no serious deficits and the edges are good on both grips,Correct “Bulls-Eye” ejector head and the correct captive 2nd variation ejector housing. A very decent and handsome late 1870s long-barreled Colt and it is getting ever harder to find any early 1880 manufactured Single Actions in this price range. VG++ $3550
