#5003 Colt S/A 4-3/4”x45COLT, manufactured in 1884 (109XXX) and having a G-VG bore, about a 6-6+ on a scale of 10 and looking like it will easily clean to a 7. Fine, tight action with all clicks on the hammer which is the later post-1909 fine checked without border style. VG markings, having the correct two-line barrel address and very good matching serial numbers. The side patent dates was struck to where the lower lines woere subject to more wear than the top line (see photos). The overall metal is a smooth, evenly cleaned to a semi-bright finish with nedium wear and no pitting of consequence; the grips are modern after market double-sided faux ivoryEagle grips and fit well, but while they LOOK like ivory, they are NOT ivory. Made in the height of the infamous “Cattle Wars” in the SouthWest, it is a very decent Colt. VG as described. $2350
