Description:
#4670 Manhattan Belt Model (AKA “Navy”) 5-1/2”x36 caliber percussion and a very serious competitor to Colt in the early 1860s. Being a 20% smaller and lighter revolver, but still packing the same “punch” as the heavier Colt 1851 Navy, these Manhattans bridged a gap between the 1849s and the 1851s in the Colt line-up. Fine action and VG bore, about a 6-7 on a scale of 10. This Civil War era handgun is basically in Fine condition having liberal traces of bright original crystal blue remaining (mainly on the lower barrel flats) and a super-fine cylinder scene …about 99% clearly visible, which is VERY uncommon since scenes are easily worn off. The grips also are very fine, just a couple of flea-bites along the lower edges. It also has a very interesting serial number, “9999” for those collectors of unusual serial numbers….and all matching, of course. Fine+ overall. $1395
