This is certainly one unique custom Ruger Old Model Vaquero. This 1994 vintage Ruger Vaquero in .45 Long Colt has had the grip frame completely re-shaped to a Bird's Head design complete with smooth Walnut custom grips. In addition to the grip frame alteration this Ruger has had a custom action tuning. The action is super-smooth and much lighter than factory, with the trigger lightened significantly from stock. It is perfectly "in time", with the cylinder locking up properly whether the action is worked super-fast or slow. The original case colored finish on this gun shows some fading and very light wear but still shows a lot of attractive color, particularly in the protected areas. The factory blue finish on the barrel still looks good with lots of shine to it and only a little wear at the sides of the muzzle and front of the ejector rod housing. The factory blue finish on the cylinder is consistent with the barrel, showing a light drag-line and a touch of high-edge wear. The cylinder is factory numbered on the face to the serial number of the gun. As mentioned before this custom Ruger seems to be in perfect working order and has an excellent bore. The rilfing still looks new with nice sharp lands and grooves and no pitting or visible imperfections. If you have been looking for a new single action revolver for your collection that you can play with at the range or farm this custom Old Model Vaquero in .45 Long Colt would be a great choice.
